New York

Two weekends ago I was able to fly out to meet up with Caleb and play around in NYC. Can had been there the whole week but we got in as much as we could. This was my second time there but my first time really getting to sight see. So be ready for a lot of pictures.

Day 1: We went to WTC 911 memorial, Wall St, Radio City Music Hall, Ed Sullivan Theater and Time Square.

Seeing where the old buildings stood and the new are rising is amazing. I don't think I have every taken a second to sit think about how so many people's lives were impacted until you stand at the sights and see all of the names. The Waterfall pools were pretty amazing. We also walked down to Wall St. Caleb and I both agree that the thing we enjoyed most was seeing things first hand. There are so many things that we see in movies and TV. It was kind of like seeing the Mona Lisa in person. That we are here...in the now...taking this all in.

Wall St

Radio City Music Hall
 Ed Sullivan Theater
Day 2: Just like Gilligan we went on a three hour tour. It was great weather. The Statue of Liberty was closed. But we were able to get a good look at her as we went around her. We were able to see all of the Burroughs of New York. There are so many bridges and the buildings were all so unique. After our tour we walked to Grand Central. It was so much more amazing in person. We also went there to see one of two Apple stores. This one was open 24 hours a day. Everything was out in the open. It didn't even seems like a store. We also went to Rockefeller Center. There is a pass that you can buy that will take you to the top of the rock. We went at night so we were able to see the Empire State building and the Chrysler building all lit up.

Day 3: We went to Central Park and walked around for a few hours. The Park is amazing. It has everything from a Zoo, Carnival, baseball fields, lakes and ponds. We spent hours and didn't get to see the whole thing. We did get Popsicles and a nice nap in the shade until we needed to head to the airport.

The BBR

So today was the BBR. I rode 25ish miles with two guys from work. It wasn't until we were on our way back to my house that the wind kicked up. I was dying. I may have fallen once on our ride. Only two little scratches ate the outcome. I also found my sunglasses which I had lost last night on my small ride. So overall it was a win win. Not sure I am really made for the hills we climbed but I pushed through. I kind of felt bad for the guys I was riding with. They hung back at my pace with me.

10 miles....a flat...and wind

Tonight I went on a bike ride. I was able to get in 10 miles. After 3 miles I got a flat. Two old men stopped, a 13 year old kid and a couple on a tandem bike all stopped to help. I was able to get it changed on my own. My legs are still sore from the dirty dash so the wind tonight was not my friend. I would like to break up with the wind at this point.

Day of the Dirty Dash

Well today was the day of the dirty dash. Both teams finished in 2 hours. I am pretty proud of myself that I did the whole thing. I did all of the obstacles and the run/walk parts. For not doing any kind of training I will take my sore muscles and sunburnt arms as a medal for what I achieved. On our ride home Caleb, his sister and I were talking and we all agreed that we can cross this off our bucket list. Not sure any of us are going to do it in the future. I am not sure I can even use the word fun....it was a lot of work for this out of shape girl. I am also pretty sure that I was the cleanest person to cross the finish line.
